Purpose

The Facilities subdistrict is dedicated to back‑of‑house and operational functions that support the National Western Center’s events and programs. It includes animal handling and care facilities, storage, maintenance yards and utility infrastructure, all of which are essential to the campus’s operation but generally not open to the public.

Story RangeBuildings are typically low‑ to mid‑rise (1–4 stories). Facilities may have large footprints and high ceilings to accommodate livestock or equipment.

Building Placement

Build-to (Primary)Structures are sited to provide efficient service access and circulation while being screened from public view. Setbacks and landscaping buffer these uses from the campus’s more public areas and from adjacent neighborhoods.
