CMP ENT

Purpose

Intended for large entertainment or cultural campuses such as sports arenas, convention centers, theme parks or mixed entertainment complexes. The district accommodates stadiums and arenas along with complementary uses like hotels, retail and dining in an integrated campus setting.

Height & Scale

Story RangeBuilding scale varies widely: event venues may be very large structures with heights exceeding 100 ft, while surrounding hotels and mixed‑use buildings typically range from 4–12 stories. Transitions to adjacent neighborhoods are managed through setbacks and height step‑backs.

Building Placement

Build-to (Primary)Campus buildings are arranged to create active public spaces and support event circulation. Plazas, promenades and landscaped buffers connect venues and support buildings. Primary entrances orient toward main pedestrian routes and transit stops.

Design Standards

Transparency (Primary)Architectural design should create a cohesive entertainment destination. Transparent façades and active ground floors are required along primary pedestrian corridors. Large blank walls must be broken up with articulation and public art. Parking and service areas are screened.

Permitted Uses

Entertainment and cultural uses such as sporting events, concerts and conventions; lodging; retail, dining and nightlife; limited office and residential uses in mixed‑use buildings; transportation facilities to serve event crowds.

Typical Application

Major sports or entertainment complexes where multiple venues and support uses operate under a unified master plan. Examples include arena districts and fairgrounds.
