The concept comes from two men who immigrated from Cameroon. With backgrounds in hospitality, restaurant ownership, and entertainment, the founders built Trybal, a speakeasy with a noble mission to educate the public about Africa directly from Africans, in a meticulously curated environment.

Simple, yet profound, their belief is that authentic stories change perspectives. and food, music, and art are the best ways to share them.

One of the most innovative features of Trybal is its knowledge based entry system, "Access Trybal."

Guess can scan a QR code to learn a fact about Africa then receive a pass for entry into the speakeasy to show at the door. It's a proprietary system built by the owner himself, blending his computer science expertise with his cultural mission. It's truly an inventive way to ensure every guest enters with a deeper connection to Africa.

Once inside, you can see culture woven into every detail, starting with a handmade mural by African artist, RZ and curated art pieces throughout.

The owners have partnered with multiple art dealers across Africa, sourcing original works from African artists and ensuring proceeds go directly back to their communities. By working with families of these artists, Trybal helps drive access to education for children, turning each piece of artwork displayed in the speakeasy into a story of cultural pride and tangible support.

Meticulously crafted glassware and handmade pieces sourced directly from African designers ensure every element remains authentic to the mission and nothing is mass produced. Lighting installations will also highlight different African countries through the year. For example, a glowing tribute to Nigeria on its Independence Day.

Guests should also expect to see an array of entertainment. The owner has a depth of expertise in this department through his other business, Scatta Afrobeats. The dancers and music alike will be a highly anticipated highlight of the speakeasy.

Trybal's menu of small-bites will rotate, spotlighting the flavors of different African regions.

Guests can expect familiar comfort dishes reimagined with luxury touches and complemented by a bar featuring 10-12 signature cocktails served in custom African glassware. Every sip and bite is designed to be both authentic and elevated, creating a culinary journey Denver hasn't experienced before.

While Trybal carries the exclusivity of a speakeasy, it isn't about exclusivity of people. The owners stress that the space is for everyone, and is a diverse team and community gathering place where learning about African culture is at the center.

A major perk of Trybal is its location, serving Downtown Denver. The neighborhood sees an array of workers, locals and visitors alike, and Trybal fills a void in what currently exists in the area. At a time when the neigborhood is searching for fresh, vibrant concepts, it offers something unique.
