The Brickyard continues to gain momentum in Castle Rock, with vertical construction now underway as the first building begins to rise on site.
The 31 acre mixed use district, located west of downtown on the former Acme Brick site, represents one of the largest redevelopment efforts in the area with a projected $400 million total investment. What began as a long anticipated vision is now taking physical shape as construction progresses across the site.
Plans call for 520 residential units, including 400 apartments and 100 for sale condos, alongside a mix of hospitality, retail, and office uses. A 125 room four star hotel, the 6250 Wellness Spa, a craft bar and kitchen, and the planned Pug Mill Market food hall anchor the commercial component. In total, the project will deliver 50,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, and event space, 33,000 square feet of office, and an additional 100,000 square feet of for sale office space.
The development’s centerpiece remains the Castle Rock Sport Center, a 145,000 square foot recreation facility designed with a 25 meter by 25 yard pool, multiple courts, fitness areas, and tournament ready amenities. The broader site will integrate with regional bike and walking trails and benefits from proximity to the Plum Creek interchange, providing direct access to I 25.
Developers have previously noted strong leasing momentum, with a majority of retail and restaurant space already committed to local operators. The town’s 25 year tax sharing agreement continues to support infrastructure delivery, with future project revenue and development fees expected to offset initial public investment.
Four months after groundbreaking, The Brickyard is transitioning from concept to construction, signaling a major step forward in Castle Rock’s evolution toward a more defined mixed use residential and commercial core.
