The former Wash Park Grille property has been sold for $6 million, marking a new chapter for one of South Gaylord Street’s most recognizable corners.
Local real estate broker and investor Aaron Grant, of Grant Real Estate Co., acquired the 10,200-square-foot building with partner Kris Johnson, a Hilltop-based oil and gas professional. The pair financed the purchase with a $4.3 million loan from Star Mesa Capital, according to public records.
The transaction closed roughly $500,000 below the list price and includes the former Agave Taco Bar on the ground floor and Meadows Dispensary on the upper level.
Grant, who also owns Park Coworking on the same block, said the investment reflects confidence in the long-term strength of the South Gaylord corridor.
Plans are underway to introduce two new restaurant concepts.
Wash Park Social is described as a Colorado-inspired neighborhood restaurant, and The Taco Garage will offer street tacos and a bar program centered on agave spirits. Both are slated to open in spring 2026 under the direction of Bart Hickey, formerly with The Capital Grille in Larimer Square.
The sale closes a turbulent chapter for the property, which had faced legal disputes and tax issues in recent years. With new ownership and redevelopment plans moving forward, the building is poised to reestablish itself as a cornerstone of South Gaylord’s retail and restaurant mix.
