Civic Center Park is finally getting the investment it deserves and don’t worry, none of it is going toward building a giant rollercoaster pedestrian bridge.
As part of Denver’s $100 million plan to reimagine downtown, $30 million is being poured into Civic Center Park to improve accessibility, restore aging infrastructure, and bring new life to one of the city’s most iconic public spaces.
Upgrades include new lighting, widened walkways, rebuilt infrastructure, and a refreshed tree canopy, making the park safer, more welcoming, and more usable for everyday Denverites. The Civic Center Conservancy is also raising private funds to support the improvements and potentially offset city costs.
For years, Civic Center has been the go-to backdrop for rallies, festivals, protests, and parades but it’s long needed some love.
This investment aims to reestablish it as Denver’s cultural front lawn, anchoring downtown with a park that feels like it belongs to everyone.
