We love new development, so were excited to talk about the many new proposals progressing over the past month.

The Immanuel Mission Center who owns the 1.93 acre vacant lot at 1090 S. Dayton Street in the Windsor section of the city are seeking zoning approval to construct a private swim club. The lot is located at the corner of Dayton Street & Mississippi Ave directly across from The Challenge School.

The site is currently zoned S-SU-I which permits single-unit suburban residences similar to the surrounding neighborhoods. The proposal is requesting to rezone the site to OS-B (Open Space Recreation District B) which permits park and open space uses not owned by the city.

We're happy to see a unique development that the community can utilize instead of the typical multifamily development we see springing up around the city.

Considering the plans are still in the early stages, full site surveys and renderings aren't available yet. We do know that access to the swim club will be from Dayton Street, which shouldn't add additional traffic along Mississippi Ave. We'll be sure to track the progress of this site and provide updates on any further progess.
