Chicago-style dogs, Italian beefs, and chocolate cake shakes might be making their way to the north metro.

Portillo’s has submitted plans for a new restaurant in Thornton, marking one of three proposed locations in Colorado.

The site is planned for a prime corner site just off I-25, a high-traffic corridor already home to In-N-Out and Raising Cane’s and strategically right in front of the Denver Premium outlets.

The proposed building spans over 7,800 sq ft and includes a dual-lane drive-thru, an outdoor patio, and Portillo’s signature retro-diner design

Permits are working their way through the process and we should expect to see some shovels in the ground later this year.
