MAKfam, one of Denver's most recognized Chinese restaurants, is planning a new location in RiNo.
Permit documents submitted to the city show plans for a MAKfam restaurant at 3463 Walnut St. Suite 1, inside the River North building. The project would modify a previously approved Choice Market tenant space into a smaller restaurant buildout for MAKfam, with a separate future tenant finish also planned for the remaining space.
The restaurant would occupy 4,699 square feet on the ground floor. Plans call for a full restaurant tenant finish with a dining room, bar, kitchen, restrooms, millwork, updated lighting and revised food service equipment. The proposed occupant load is listed at 102 people, with another 20 outdoor occupants included in the egress analysis.
The project team includes Regular Architecture as architect and Ramirez Johnson & Associates as MEP engineer. BUILD.R.S CORP LLC is listed as the updated general contractor.
The menu materials submitted with the permit include several beverage offerings, including Hong Kong Ice Tea, Little Tiger, Red Bean Kitty, Hong Kong Daisy, HK Milk Tea, Coconut Cold Brew, Ginger Orange Blossom Fizz and Vita Lemon Tea.
MAKfam's existing restaurant has earned major recognition in Denver's food scene, including Michelin Bib Gourmand status. A RiNo location would bring the concept into one of the city's most active dining and development districts.
