Demolition of the former Denver7 building at 123 Speer Boulevard is now complete, ending more than fifty years of the site’s history as a local broadcast hub. The station first opened there in 1969 and remained a recognizable structure until operations relocated. A 2021 bid for landmark protection was denied, allowing redevelopment plans to move forward.
Milender White managed the demolition process, and we captured over 12 twelves as crews cleared the site. The property covers nearly 100,000 square feet with frontage along Speer Boulevard, Lincoln Street, Seventh Avenue, and Sherman Street. Developer PMG and equity partner Greybrook purchased the site in 2021 for $35 million. The teams are advancing plans for Society Denver, a two tower residential project that will include a fourteen story building with 409 apartments and a twelve story building with 154 apartments.
The development also includes 13,500 square feet of retail space and 480 parking spaces. According to project details, construction is expected to deliver the new community in 2027.
