Denver might be getting a new crown jewel that spirals 673 feet into the sky! At that height, the structure would become the fourth tallest in both Denver and Colorado reshaping the skyline with a bold twist.
The concept was submitted last month for a futuristic observation tower just south of the Denver Pavilions on a surface parking lot between 1546 California and 1555 Welton.
The project is being explored by an LLC tied to local real estate firm NAI Shames Makovsky which bought the lot in 2018 for 2.9 million and recently unified ownership of the site.
The design comes from Magnicity a Paris based company known for operating high altitude urban attractions around the world.
Magnicity runs iconic experiences in Paris Berlin Rotterdam Chicago and Warsaw. Their U.S. presence includes 360 Chicago, an observation deck on the 94th floor of the former John Hancock Tower that features a bar and a thrill ride called TILT.
In 2025 the company will open Highline Warsaw atop the tallest skyscraper in the European Union. Their Spiral Tower concept blends sustainability, technology, and storytelling.
The lightweight steel structure uses renewable energy vertical gardens and regenerative power systems. Visitors would ride in transparent electric pods that rotate around the tower offering 360 degree views and AR powered city tours.
The tower is designed to be modular with versions ranging from 200 to nearly 500 feet. It also includes a plaza base that can host retail pop ups art exhibits or restaurants creating a new cultural hub at street level.
This would be Magnicity’s first Spiral Tower in North America and one of the most unique architectural additions Denver has seen in years.
The proposal is still under city review but if it moves forward downtown Denver could soon offer more than just mountain views.
The construction of this spiral tower might offer one of the most innovative skyline experiences in the world!
