1777 Franklin Street.

Demolition is complete at the future home of Chrysalis Apartments in City Park West, bringing 70 deeply affordable apartments to 1777 Franklin Street.

The project, known as Chrysalis Apartments, is being developed by The Empowerment Program and will replaced as aging 15-unit building. All units will be restricted to residents earning 30% of area median income or less, with affordability secured for 60 years. The building is designed to provide long term stability for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.

Chrysalis Apartments will rise 7 stories and include on site supportive services, community gathering spaces, and offices for case management. The project is designed by Radix Design and will be built by Pinkard Construction. Plans call for a Zero Energy Ready building using a light gauge steel structural system to improve energy performance and durability.

Visible construction should start soon, adding a significant affordable housing resource near transit, employment centers, and City Park. The development reflects continued efforts to expand supportive housing options in central Denver neighborhoods.
