Blackstone has acquired a 49% stake in Denver-based Rowan Digital Infrastructure, marking a major investment into one of the fastest-growing segments of real estate and infrastructure.
Rowan, headquartered in Denver, develops large-scale data center campuses designed for hyperscale users such as cloud and artificial intelligence companies. The firm focuses on building power-intensive, build-to-suit facilities that can scale quickly, with projects ranging from 300 MW to more than 1 GW across the U.S.
A key differentiator for Rowan is its focus on securing power and integrating sustainable energy solutions, which has become one of the biggest constraints in data center development.
Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager, is one of the most active global investors in real estate, infrastructure, and digital assets. The firm has deployed billions into data centers in recent years, positioning itself to capitalize on demand driven by cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
The investment provides Rowan with significant capital to accelerate its national pipeline and expand capacity for major technology clients. It also gives Blackstone a meaningful position in a Denver-based platform operating at the center of the AI infrastructure boom.
For Colorado, the deal reinforces Denver’s growing role as a hub for digital infrastructure companies. While Rowan’s projects are national, the company’s headquarters and operations in Denver mean local economic benefits through high-paying jobs, capital inflows, and increased visibility for the region in the data center and energy sectors.
At the company level, the recapitalization strengthens Rowan’s ability to compete for large-scale hyperscale projects, where access to capital and power are critical advantages. With Blackstone’s backing, Rowan is positioned to scale faster and take on larger developments as demand for AI-driven computing continues to surge.
