Construction is underway at Henninger Legacy Homes, a 60 unit permanent supportive housing development taking shape in Denver’s Baker neighborhood. The project is expected to open later this year and is being developed in partnership with the Atlantis Community Foundation.

Henninger Legacy Homes will provide affordable housing for people with disabilities and individuals earning less than 30% of the area median income. The building is designed to support long term stability through a combination of accessible housing and on site services.

The project is located near public transportation, Dailey Park and nearby retail, offering residents access to daily amenities and neighborhood resources. ServiceSource will provide tenant support and employment services on site and plans to expand its food bank program within the building to serve both residents and people in the surrounding community.

Construction financing for the project was provided by Colorado Federal Savings Bank. The building is being constructed by BC Buildings, LLC.

The development is named in honor of former executive director David Henninger, whose work focused on expanding opportunity for people with disabilities.

“Our mission has always been to create hope, opportunity and choice for people with disabilities and those who face other hurdles to employment,” Henninger said.

Additional updates are expected as construction progresses toward completion.
