Denver Parks and Recreation has started construction on a new 13.2 acre park on a 19 acre site next to KIPP Northeast Denver. The project carries a $10 million budget funded by the RISE bond along with legacy and capital funds. The city is targeting a 2026 opening. The plan introduces new recreation space to a fast growing part of Green Valley Ranch.

The design includes athletic fields, sports courts, a large play area, walking trails, a basketball court, and a flexible multi use lawn. Plans also call for a community garden, a habitat garden, shaded picnic areas, a pavilion, interactive water features, and upgraded landscaping and walkways. The project follows years of public input.

A vision plan finished in 2022 after early outreach in 2021. Another round of meetings and surveys in 2024 brought in about 230 responses on priorities for the site. Residents asked for more room for youth sports, everyday play, and places to gather near home. The final layout reflects those goals with space for teams, families, and community events.

For Green Valley Ranch, the new park is planned as a community center on the neighborhood edge. New housing continues to rise around the 47th and Telluride site, and the park is expected to become a regular stop for students, families, and weekend pick up games once the fields and courts open. The city sees the project as long term public space shaped directly by local input and set to serve the area for years.
