The owner of the 0.72 acre site at the corner of Colfax and Knox Street recently submitted an application to redevelop the site into a 66-unit multifamily development.
The applicant for the project is Alisha Hammett of Shopworks Architecture, while the owner is GAO Homes Partners RLLP.
The site is currently improved with a 55-year old, two story, 10-unit income restricted development zoned G-MS-3.
The owner is proposing a rezoning to G-MS-5, which would permit a multifamily building up to five stories.
According to the application, the proposed building will include a shopfront, which indicates a mixed-use building with commercial use fronting Colfax. Also noted in the application is that the building will be 100% income-restricted for residents earning up to 50% of the area median income.
Considering the project is still in the early stages, renderings have not been released. We'll be sure to check back with updates as we track the progress of this proposal.
